She bought:2.29 x 3 = 6.87
1.99 x 3 = 5.97
=12.84
- 4.14 24£3
- 3.29 25%
= £5.41 not £1.57. What you have done is say the wine is £9 and then taken the 2 discounts off.
4x £2.29 = 9.16
2x £1.99 = 3.98
£13.14
-4.14 = £9.00
-3.29 = £5.71 / 6 = 0.95p

if ive done this right, this should be a piccy of the proof of receipt for the wine, who ever wanted to see it earlier. £48 shop down to £11 with £10 JTD back hopefully.the wine was 6 small bottles @ 2 for £3 so total should be £9 after discount i paid £1.57 for all 6 bottles. HTH

Either way, it's an impressive use of coupons!

total saving £7.43.. so £9 - £7.43 is?? thats how id look at it, or so the receipt says

Vikki is almost right unfortunately. If you look at your receipt you didn't actually pay £9 for the wine before the discounts, you actually paid £13.14.
If vikki doesn't mind me borrowing her workings out:
2.29 x 4 = 9.16
1.99 x 2 = 3.98
=13.14

You are taking off the 2 for £3 twice. It's £9.00 then your 25% which is £3.29.total saving £7.43.. so £9 - £7.43 is?? thats how id look at it, or so the receipt says
maybe just my maths, or the way i looked at the receipt.I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!0 -
