Vikki is almost right unfortunately. If you look at your receipt you didn't actually pay £9 for the wine before the discounts, you actually paid £13.14.

If vikki doesn't mind me borrowing her workings out:

2.29 x 4 = 9.16
1.99 x 2 = 3.98
=13.14

- 4.14 24£3
- 3.29 25%

You are taking off the 2 for £3 twice. It's £9.00 then your 25% which is £3.29.
