Baby food jars

Options
Doesn't seem right chucking them, can anyone think of a good use for baby food jars?

Failing that, if someone really wants them I could pop them on eBay for postage only?

  • Could use them to store herbs and spices so you can buy the refill packs rather than the pricier jars?

Or little fiddly bits like stud earrings or little screws/nails?
If you lend someone £20 and never see them again, it was probably £20 well spent...

    Pop them on freecycle.

Loads of members make their own jams, etc so the small jars make lovely gift sizes.

Loads make their own candles too so the jars come in handy for gift sized candles too!

Years ago I was involved in a Christmas Fundraiser and there was a lady there who had made tealite holders out of baby food jars , she had painted designs on them using glass paint popped a tealite in and glued little sequin, diamontes etc around to decorate.

They are brilliant if you make your own lemon curd, mint sauce etc. Or pop a tea light in them wrap some wire around the top and you have some nice little lights for the garden ( You could paint them with glass paint as well to make them prettier)
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Mr LW had a fit of reminiscing the other day, and told me that when his parents grew strawberries, they would lovingly put Shipp@ms fish paste jars over the forming fruit, to keep birds off it. I imagine baby food jars are a similar size, so if you or any of your friends has a strawberry patch.......:o
