_pale_ Oh god I am feeling really cack. This is really unreal.
Also we have a debt to a Clinical Psychologist who assessed our son. £1600. £1000 of this is being funded by a healthcare company, under my f-i-l plan. Should I put this down or not. Insolvency said I didn't have to but could not repay the £600 whilst bankrupt. I lied (to the psychologist) and told him I intended to get our parents to pay it. Now I feel really bad. What should I do?
I feel bad enough about the bank, but this man.:o

Hi Vix,
You need to think of yourself at the moment, don't add to your stress worrying about other people. You didn't ask to get into the position of becoming bankrupt, and I don't think you lied in a bad way....it was for one of your children and they are much more important.

Thanks, your right - I didn't lie when I arranged him, when he chased me for money I was too embarrassed to tell the truth and told him it was fine, my parents would help.:starmod: I am not that savage :heartpuls But I am a Vixen :staradmin0

Well there you go then, at least you had the courage to speak to him, I just hid behind sofas and not answering the phone to anyone I owed money to.BCSC Member No 55 - Lightbulb Moment 07/03/07

Hi savage,
the way i would look at it is that at the time you did what you did as you need to get your son assesed and that was something that was a must ,also would the psychologist be prepaired to wait a year before you could start paying him (i think not ) so my advice would be to put it on your forms.afterall you did it for the right reasons .hope this makes sense.

How about telling the Psychologist that the funding for his outstanding fee has fallen through. You don't have to go into details, and it's the truth. Then tell him your situation. If he/she's halfway humanitarian, they'll understand.
And by telling him and the OR, you're acknowledging that there's a debt.

I would definately speak to this man and explain the situation. When someone owed us money, what annoyed me most of all was that he lied to us and kept saying the cheque was in the post. I am human and have a heart and would have agreed to come to an arrangement and I am sure that this man will too.
You have to be honest with him though.0 -
I have spoken to my father in law and we are going to leave him off the list of unsecured debts. He is a really nice man who has really helped our son out. He will get the £1000 and we will ask for a settlement fee on the rest which Father-in-law has agreed to settle, so that it is his arrangement not ours.
I do feel bank that the bank will be angry though.:starmod: I am not that savage :heartpuls But I am a Vixen :staradmin0 -

Foxy,
You are too good for this rotten world.
I'm sure the psychologist's fees include an amount for bad and doubtful debt so personally I wouldn't have felt too bad about him not getting paid. Having said that, if he'd really helped your son I would have felt morally obliged to settle his fee and would have explained the situation to him and sent him the odd "unofficial" postal order until I was in a position to settle the account in full.
Your father in law sounds like a real star too, you really do find out who your true friends are when you've got your back against the wall. We've got mortar imprints on our backs

Thanx Rich,
It is a moral issue. The autistic assessment waiting list was too long and our son was being excluded willy-nilly from school. The Psych was so concerned (I know and well-paid) that he came and assessed, knowing the finances were difficult, within 2 weeks. I will explain the case and hopefully get a reduced fee settlement. I will always feel bad if we don't make this effort.
Thanks again for the support

Hi Foxy,
I completely agree, as a parent the health and well being of your children are the top priority and anybody who can help them naturally becomes a very significant person in your "world view". He does sound like a caring person too, my O.H who is sat next to me, says that if we win the lottery this weekend we'll send the cash  Well, we might have to wait until after our discharge before we present the winning ticket.
You seemed to be more of a "foxy" than a "savage vixen" - the first time I replied to one of your posts I felt quite intimidated
Have a good day; I've just realised, it's almost the weekend - yipeeeee
