hi all,
my fridge drawers really annoy me.
they hold the wetness from veggies and turn them mouldy.
do any of you have an alternative?to keep air circulating so things don't get wet/mouldy?
was thinking having two colanders in bottom of fridge and getting rid of drawers altogether.
thoughts please

I only seem to have this problem when I leave veg too long in the salad drawers. Things like lettuce keep really well loosely tied in a plastic bag after being washed and excess water shaken off. I have bought lettuce and kept it in a plastic bag for a couple of weeks. Have to say I generally don't tend to keep veg longer than about 4-5 days without using it.

I always leave some sort of paper to line the drawers.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I second Mrs Arcanum's recommendation. I have fruit/veg cushions in the fridge drawers, and and condensation goes through to the bottom, and the fruit/veg stays lovely and dry.
I take them out once a week and remove any collected water and air the cushion itself, then just pop it back in.
No mouldy veg here!:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I use a few sheets of kitchen towel in the base of the drawer and change it once a week, this helps to stop the water sitting on the veg and making it mouldy.1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

I use a few bits of kitchen roll and when I buy a salad bag I put it straight into a Tupperware pot keeps it fresher for longer0

I'm in the kitchen roll brigade too. I just change the sheet in the fridge drawer once a week.
I also put a sheet of kitchen roll in the bottom of my lunch cool bag too - stops the ice pack making everything wet, and gives me something to wipe my hands with when I've finished eating.0
