Loan company taking our money

Hi

I have posted this in the loans thread also but as this is a higher APR loan as we have bad credit I thought I would but it on here as well.

Right we needed some extra cash ASAP so we looked at a loan and found a company called priority money who said they will send us some paperwork which we need to sign and send back to get the loan but we never got the paperwork so went to another company.

But we woke this morning to find that priority have taken £70 from our account but why have they done this as we have brought nothing from them.

So we read there terms and it says we can apply for a refund via post but can we demand a refund over the phone as post will take ages and we need the money now.

Please help us and tell us where we stand thank you

You must have given them your bank details for them to take money from your account.

Ring the company by all means, ask them what this money is for, request a refund, but follow it up in writing, keep copies and send recorded delivery.

If you have any problem with them on the phone, ring your bank and request a charge back because it was an unauthorised deduction.

Was any charges mentioned in the telephonce call.

Try and remember the date and time of the original call, make notes of what was said in case you have a problem.

ring your bank asap and tell them its unauthorised! they will do a chargeback i'd imagine (thats where they give you back the money then get it back fron the company)
Has the "loan" gone INTO your bank??
    good luck

  • Why have you posted a similar thread on the Loans Board?

Do you expect different answers on this Board?

The OP did provide his/her bank details & and the website confirms that a fees are chargeable so I'm afraid I think it's unlikely the OP will see his/her money again.

no the charges were not mentioned in the phone call and no we have not had any money from them into our accounts we only rang them really to find out what they could offer and we thought that us giving them our bank details was for them to do a credit check.

and yes we can get our money back it says so in there t&c's
