Anyone know of any outdoor things on this weekend in the Edinburgh/Fife Borders/Central (willing to travel!) area to make the most of the glorious weather?
I am bored and have a teenage son I would like out of his bed! I have e-mailed a few places with outdoor things which need to be booked to see about availabilty but wondered if anyone knew of anything else going on?
PS. We are booked for the zoo in a fortnight or so and would like to do the Falkirk Wheel sometime but as a family and not everyone is available this weekend!

Take a bus along Princes Street, now there is a novelty for you? Stop off and check out the renovated Assembly Rooms with Jamie Oliver restaurant.
Okay not really outdoors but you could go fruit picking at Craigies Farm on the way to South Queensferry, John is having his coffee outside this morning.

This might be interesting next weekend if, like me, you missed the torch in Edinburgh

Thanks. We will be back to Cragies. It was rather muddy under foot but the views across the Forth and Edinburgh are great. Decent walks for the dog too although I could so easily have got lost!
Thanks for the heads up for next weekend too. I did miss the torch! Think I might book mark that web site too!0 -
Hope you had a nice day yesterday, I see its back to same old same old here in Edinburgh0

If your son is interested in aircraft, you may like to take him to see the Air show at East Fortune on Sat 28th. http://www.nms.ac.uk/our_museums/museum_of_flight/whats_on/airshow.aspx
