Options
i am looking for cheap driving lessons in nottingham area and have seen many sites, top schools are really expensive , i found the cheapest driving lessons prices in nottingham with driving-schools-nottingham.co.uk at £21ph.

Do anyone know if this is good price, there is no offers like others schools but on the long run i think it is fair?
any advice?

We live in Merseyside and my daughter's driving school charged £22 a lesson, but if you booked a block of ten it was £200 (so a discount of £2 per lesson). Obviously you had to pay the £200 on the first lesson of the block, but it can be budgeted for.

Your lessons sound reasonably priced, but you are better getting recommendations if you can, rather than just going by price alone. You can always ask if there is a discount for a block booking.

When you pass, don't forget to use the guide from this site when looking for insurance. It is a shocking amount to pay for new drivers, especaially if you are young. From the guide, I found that Aviva doesn't appear on price comparison websites, and this was the best policy for my daughter. It was an average of £2000 cheaper than most other insurers (fully comp, three year old Chevrolet Matiz).

    Good luck x

Have a look at 1Way Driving School in Cotgrave. If you google it should come up and they also have a facebook. They do a block booking offer so works out good value.

Martin owns it and he was brilliant when I learnt. Really nice guy and funny and calm and you can ask anything. Nice Golf to learn in too :-)

My husband is an instructor in the West Midlands and £21 per hour is the kind of price you'd expect to pay. It's sometimes a false economy to go with the cheapest as they may not be offering value for money, and you'll probably find you get what you pay for. The saying "pay peanuts and you get monkeys" is often true when it comes to driving schools. If you look on the Driving Standards Agency website you'll find a list of reputable instructors. You'll also get much more benefit from instructors who offer two hour lessons. If you only have an hour you'll just be getting into the lesson when it's time to stop. It will mean that you'll be paying quite a lot for each two hour lesson but in the long term it's probably better. If you google honest john you'll find some useful information about to learn to drive effectively.

    Good luck!
  • I pay £20 an hour. I've been told this is the average price for lessons.
