Rental income and carer's allowance

I have just been awarded DLA. High rate mobility and medium rate care component. My daughter gave up her career, moved from her home some month ago, rented it out and now cares for me full time. She living off savings and currently claims no benefits.
We were told that she could claim Carer's allowance and have looked at the form online. My daughter says it asks a lot of questions about rental property and says that this suggests to her that she is not eligible even though she cares for me for considerably more than 35 hours a week and does not work.
I am very hopeful that someone can tell me what the position is on this.
Many thanks

you are allowed to earn £100 a week (after some deductions)when claiming CA,i would assume net rental income would count for this purpose0

Has your daughter claimed Carer's Credits so that she will be credited with NI contributions towards her pension?0
-
Hi
she has claimed nothing at all yet - if she were to gain Carer's allowance, the NI payments would be provided for her within this payment. I am not sure that the rental income is considered as earnings though.0 -
What is the income she gets from the rental?
Ie after paying the mortgage, insurance, letting agents etc?0 -

But she's losing contributions while she's waiting for the possibility of CA.
If you get Severe Disability Premium in your payments, you will lose that if she claims CA. If you get SDP, you could just pay her direct from your money.0 -
In her particular circumstances, DWP should consider her as having an investment rather than running a business by letting out her home. This is good, because they do not class income from investment as earnings.
If you're happy to give up the SDP (if you get it) then she should just go ahead and claim. There's little point in trying to second guess what DWP might decide.0 -
Your daughter should check the council tax on her property. When I had to leave my flat in London to care for my step-father, the flat was exempt for council tax purposes when it was empty. Therefore, before tenants moved in and during any breaks between tenants, it should be council tax exempt. She should get in touch with the council if she's paid council tax since she's been staying with you. It's not much, but every little helps.0

I think this advice from Sleepless Saver is what I am after really. thank you everyone who has kindly tried to help.
I will be receiving this benefit for only about a year [I hope to be fortunate enough to complete all this chemo and other treatments and eventually get back to some strength].
As we lost my husband only last year to cancer, my daughter is determined to se me through this one and so she will care for me come what may.
I do not get Severe Disablement Entitlement and yes, I know the NI contributions will be paid for my daughter should she claim but really what I needed to know precisely is "Do they regard investment income as earnings?"
We have looked at the onlie forma nd it requests details of owned property and we wondered why.
Many thanks again to all.0 -
