L&C would not be recommending C&G anyway at the moment. I am surprised by our response to this matter, please PM me the advisers name and yours and I will personally look into this matter. I suspect there is more to this than you have said, as said previously, I could easily place this.

I would also like to know why L&C 'would not be recommending C&G at the moment' as well.

Maybe I will call them today, quote this thread and ask for their reason why?

    @ windowwindow

Personally I would not PM your name etc to anyone claiming to be from L&C on the forums. Martin has approved one member who has a signature link stating he is from L&C, all other brokers whether employed or self employed whichever company they work for have to adhere to the Brokers Code of Conduct and must not ask posters to PM them etc.

Besides L&C have surely had their bite of the cherry and not come up with what you wanted so, in my humble opinion, try a local broker to you and have a proper face to face consultation to go through the case in it's fullness and discuss all the options.

I am not saying that I could or could not place this case, it is impossible to make such a statement without the full case facts etc. Besides that is not the point of my reply. My point is firstly a little shocked at the response of an employee of L&C regarding a mainstream lender in such a public forum and, after making such a statement, the expectation that a poster will simply PM them their name etc with no adherance to the site or forum rules.

Try your friends/family for a recommendation of a good broker near to you.

If you are a broker / adviser .. with L&C or not , you can only make reference to the fact in a post if you abide by the rules / signature requirements

I dont think he is a broker, he made some comment on the high income multiples which were a bit dubious to say the least.

Maybe he does work at L&C but I hope for them he doesn't lol...

I'm also interested in why London and Country "would not be recommending C&G at the moment" - pretty sweeping statement for an "independent" brokerage.

Do you know anything? L&C aren't independent because they do not charge a fee for their service. They are, however, whole of market.

C&G is not beyond recommendation however (and I am most surprised that supposed "mortgage brokers" are unaware of this) their service levels are at a standard far far below what is considered acceptable. In any case their current portfolio quality reflects this.

I would be very interested to hear AndrewSmith's and toonfish's response to this. Is it common for you to recommend poor products with poor service levels? If so perhaps that information should be shown in your signature.

The anti-L&C feeling on this board in particular is well documented and comes across as jealousy. It's pretty pathetic.

I have not had any issues with service levels with c&g of late.

I dont think there has been an attack on L&C here, it was just the remark that you made which you didnt qualify that made me wonder why you had said it.

I post my cases to the local branch for processing with c&g and im sure that l&c don't with the volumes of business l&c write. It is likely that service levels may differ here.

If you were to post as a broker, follow the forum rules and try and explain your respnses rather than posting what seem lazy responses with nobenefit to the question or point raised then you may just get on a little better in here. The forum is not for taking business or promoting the business you work for, it is about providing help and information.

  • Lazy is fair enough, there is not enough detail to warrant indepth and perhaps misleading statements which is why I requested further information through regulated channels.

Our business with C&G has a 3 week backlog currently. To me avoiding them is a perfectably acceptable and intelligent business procedure yet somehow the green eyed monsters seeks to twist and misrepresent.

I don't want to post as a broker as I do that for 11 hours, 6 days a week. I merely post my informed opinions that reflect my desire to remain an observer. If someone has had an experience with L&C I am always keen to get some kind of feedback to make our processes more adaptable.

THANKS for confirmend L&C are not independent ...

Its seems clear that the regulators would prefer advisers to offer a fee only option ( which can often be cheaper than commission due to the rebate ) , as its really a BETTER DEAL FOR THE CONSUMER
and that L&C have decided that this is not a route for them .

Under the rules that were placed on the posters for the mortgae board I can not see how you can post making reference to your status one minute, but not including it in your signature, hence I have requested that the moderators review your posts , as I'm sure they would not want the forum owners to to showing obvious bias to one particular provider.

I note that in a previous post some months ago you posted in what seemed like a laymans post defending this site stance - whereas it is now clear it came from a certain bias ...
PS... send my regards to RAS

BTW yes whilst its common knowledge that C&G are having service issues , and seem to have moved their comeptitiveness to stem the flow, they do still have some good products , and I got just an offer from them in 2 days on a fuyrther advance.

C&G have been fantastic lately, I post everything to the local branch ad sometimes they will even pick up if I am busy - just got a case to offer in two weeks which is perfectly acceptable!
