Invoices not honoured!!!

Hi,
I have been working, in a self employed capacity, for a local charitable organisation on the National Citizen Service Initiative.
Last year was great! So this year I signed up for the programme again. On the 29th June, I submitted my invoices for June's work. After a meeting on 29th, I began to get reservations and so on 30th June, I emailed my line manager and informed him that I was resigning from the post. - There was an issue with over-staffing and procedural processes - as I had already sent in my invoices, I thought little about it. The payment date was 13th of each month.
The week prior to payment, I emailed the payroll section and asked if everything was fine with my invoices. They said they were only awaiting my previous line manager's signature on them.
On 13th July, I did not receive payment (£500+). On 14th July, I emailed and asked if there was a problem - no reply. I sent a further email on 19th July but have still not had a reply!!!
Where do I stand?:(

You stand that you need to chase up payment. Speak to payroll (if they deal with the self employment invoices) and if they are not signed off then try to contact your old manager directly.
Honestly, its fun trying to get most companies to pay within 2 weeks of the 'due date' of an invoice and its one of the risks of being self employed.0 -
First of all, and this is all by recorded delivery, you need to send a reminder invoice giving them 2 weeks to pay. If they don't pay that you need to then send them a "Statement of Account" listing all the outstanding invoices and amounts, again giving them 2 weeks to pay. If they still do not pay you send them a final demand giving them 5 working days to send CLEARED payment otherwise you will instigate county court proceedings against them to recover the money.0

Did you have a contract covering the provision of your services to the charity? What did it say regarding notice periods and payment of invoices?0
