Hi guys
Not sure I this is in the correct place of not sorry
Got home from work today to open a letter from a company
Called capquest telling me I owe them £274 on behalf of
T-mobile now I do have a phone contract but all bills are up
To date and don't owe a penny. Is this just a company trying to
Pull a fast one ?
Cheers guys

No, they don't just try to pull fast ones.
You either
1. Owe them the moneny
2. Someone owes them and took a contract in your name
3. They made a mistake
So the first thing you need to do is speak to them and establish the above. Sometimes people with the same name end up with anothers debt or sometimes collectors and companies just make mistakes.
I ended up with a collections letter from T-Mobile, I called them and argued until I could argue no more. They kept telling me I owed them and I told them I hadn't used them for 2 years so why now. Eventually they tell me the charges were from the previous month and someone had been using my old account! Eventually knowing someone had been using my account we got it sorted and negative credit ref data removed, refunded payment amounts. BUT the person that did it was NEVER FOUND!!!! Upsets me a lot!0 -
I called capquest this morning. They are telling me i owe money from 2009!!! in a house i moved out of in 2009 . How did they get my new add and I am sure i did not have a t-mobile contract back then.
To be fair to them they said they will look into it and if i do owe ( which im not sure i do) i can pay back as little as 5 pound a month.0 -
If you never had a t-mobile contract then you don't owe them a penny (despite what their looking into it might reveal) and so you can tell them what to do with their generous £5 per month offer.
Stop phoning them and require everything in writing. Check out some other threads here and you will see how this company operates.0 -
I had a look they seem like a bunch of con artisit to be fair... Have asked them to send me everything in writing0

If you didn't have a T-Mobile contract in 2009 then you can't owe money.
Let them write to you, then you can get them to prove it. I bet they'll come back with some ambiguous looking bills that don't contain any information as to who it relates to.0
