I think it is almost impossible to get a loan or any form of new credit whilst solely on benefits but I stand to be corrected0 -
Unfortunately as you are unemployed they will not lend to you.0

They do count as income but the only lenders that will lend easily on that income only will be the doorstep collection ones charging high rates of interest and charges. A credit card company might give you a £250 to £1,000 credit limit for use in emergencies.mummy2threeboys wrote: »Just trying to get rid of my cc debt, im unemployed, im a stay at home mummy, i get child benefit and tax credits , but i cant get a new 0% balance transfer as i have no income, do the above count as income? Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Well at least by your signature, you're doing something about the debt. At the absolute worst, consider the interest a membership fee for them to roll your debt onto another month. You could do without paying it but hey, it's there and it's not the end of the world.
Good luck to you.

No reason why your OH shouldnt help you out. You had his childrent, you look after them and him. etc. etc. He's got spending money and youre struggling with debt, something wrong there.
There is no such thing in our house as his and mine.
