Part time to full time to part time.

Hi,

Can anyone advise me about an issue whereby a permenant part time worker was given full time hours for approx 2 years and has now had the extra hours taken away and given to someone else.

Is this legal and if not what can be done about it?

Thanks

It will depend on what the contract says. if the contract was never changed from part time, then as long as they're getting the hours laid out in their contract I'd say its completely legal.

Someone who knows better may be able to let you know if the two years may count as some sort of precedent of change, but I'm not sure.
