    Male stripper?
    Lap dancer?
    Pole dancer?
    Rude telephone operative?
    Sperm donor?
Labour spin doctor (sorry, that's going too far wink05.gif)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

It was this thread (Thanks Dithering Dad)and the links that made us think about overpaying. :D Luckily our fixed rate ended at the end of Feb and we went form 5.5% to 2.5%, we have continued to pay the original amount monthly plus £150 more each month. At the moment we are paying around £300 a month as an overpayment.
Hubby has just been put on a 4 day week but I have taken on extra work (I'm a teacher and I have started doing private tutoring) and at present we can continue with the overpayments. Thanks for all your inspiration guys, I wish you all well in your life choices.

Thanks guys. I did receive a bit of flack when I first started down the MFW route - most people were saying it was a waste of money that would give a better return invested in the stockmarket or in high interest savings account. Two years later and we're in recession, yet I feel a lot more comfortable with my £100k mortgage than I would have with a £150k one.

It's a shame that family stuff got in the way of us really blitzing the mortgage as I had planned - we would have had the mortgage down to around £50k by now, but I'm really happy with how well we've done so far, considering.
