Tax Credits

I do apologise if this has been asked before.

We get tax credits and I think we must disclose on the forms.

Does the Official Receiver treat this as income?

Thanks as always for your help.

Yes its is clased as income as other benefits, but cannot be taken in an IPA if all your income id from benefits.

    Thanks Freddy.

We both work and don't receive any other benefits.

So am I right in saying it would be classed as income?

    Thanks,

It's classed as income but the OR can't take any of it.

It was my understanding that if only part of the household income was from benefits then the OR could take the money into a IPO.
I thought it was only if all income came from benefits then it couldn't be touched?

Technically they cannot touch the benefits but it counts towards the surplus which they will take from your income so one way or another they do take it.
