Using Costco for household shopping - Anyone else got experience of this?

This a bit of a random question but if I'm a card holder can I bring a friend or parent with me who doesn't have a card?? It's just that my nearest costco is close to my parents and I'm sure they would like to come and have a look round with me.
Yes you can take a guest in:)You can't live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you. ~John Wooden 154/06/2700 -
I use costco almost exclusively for some things:
Loo rolls
Washing liquid (fairy)
Foil and cling film
Meat (not chicken because it isn't free range)
Free range eggs (we get through around 40 eggs a week)
Razor blades
Coffee beans
Pesto
Large frozen prawns
Cheddar for cooking
Bottles of water for car journeys
Dishwasher tabs (stock up when on offer)
Dried herbs and spices
I probably spend about £150-200 per month in there, and then £50-80 per week with Ocado.

Not only can you take a guest in. They can make a purchase too! I did this with my mother in law before we got our own card.
I am sure if you pay the memebership and you decide you are not happy with it you can get a full refund.
Their refund policy and returns is great too! And you don't have to keep your receipt cause they can find the item through your memebership card.

Can't see an awful lot of rubbish there either but each to there own I guess
Apart from most of the above I also buy
Kirkland tubs of bio washing powder.......13 quid and so far is a year down and still over half left smells gorg too
Hot chickens.....so much meatier than the supermarket ones
Packs 3 kitchen wipes ....a godsend
Boxes of occasion cards, all really lovely
Oh and you have a no quibble 2/3 year guarantee .....don't even need the receipt it's recorded on your account
And finally they do a mean free brekky and samples all over:):)0 -
Have to say that I am not impressed with the sausages, have you checked out the calories! I prefer the M&S 97% meat ones which we glaze in mustard and honey.0

I wasn't impressed with the sausages either. Tasted really odd. I stick to the Debbie and Andrews 97% ones.
Steaks and mince are better than anyone else's though, IMO.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

My sisters a member and we had a great time in costco lakeside last week. I bought a fantastic 'Heys' suitcase which was over £200 for £56 with VAT - it is really funky hardcase with hearts on it.
The cakes look so yummy but I can not buy so many - my sister and I went halves on everything bread/cake wise. Watch out for the cupcakes over 700 calories in one of those!!
Big tubs of olives just yummy - great quality
Big tubs of houmous - fantastic
Tray of 24 Pepsi max under £6
12 500 ml bottles of pepsi max £3.80 ish
Some really good stuff but you have to be wary of quantity and what you can get elsewhere cheaper.
Had a great day out shopping
Really good if you are having a partyFood and Smellies Shop target £50 pw - managed average of £49 per week in 2013 down to £38.90 per week in 20160 -
I've wanted to join for a while now but not sure if I qualify. I went online and had a look at the T&C's re employment but still can't figure it out! So I took the plunge and joined online. I need to bring a payslip etc with me on my first visit so if it turns out I don't qualify I hope I get a refund! The organisation I work for is ostensibly a quango in that we carry out work on behalf of the government but we also find our own funding, i.e. we're not 100% publicly funded. It's all very confusing........0

on an individual membership you get one free card for someone else, so my mum has a card on my account. between the 2 of us, we more than get our value for money from the membership fee. If you don't have a large family and/or a lot of storage space, it can help having someone to split purchases with.
You do need to know the going rate for groceries, because whilst some things are a real bargain, not everything is.
Food in the cafe is also very good for the money - really generous portions.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
I regulary buy:
Loo rolls (Charmin seems permanently on offer - £15 for 80 rolls)
Toothpaste
Elizabeth Arden
Lynx deodourant
Razors
Washing powder
Fabric softener
Vanish
Dishwasher tabs
Cling film & foil
Filipo Berrio extra virgin olive oil - 5L for £15
Milk - £1.29 for 6 pints
The meat is excellent, the fish is outstanding and the bakery produces some amazing stuff. But I only look at it, honest!
We really save a significant amount. Much, much more than the membership fee.You had me at your proper use of "you're".0
