Thursday 19th July - What Small DFW Things Will You Do Today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Morning all!

Need to get back into swing of things so figured I'd start us off today!

Today I will:
Check banks
Check CCs - see if payment has come off yet
Check TCB
Check Ebay
Check Paypal
Food from stores
2lt water
Drive economically to work
Need to get petrol but other than that NSD
Revise at lunchtime - exam tonight, eek!
Cancel Amazon credit card

Think that's me for now, have a great Thursday all!

    • charge phone at work with their consent
    • keep an eye on surveys throughout the day
    • drink free coffee at work

    • dinner from stores - schnitzels today I think
    • spend evening in the sewing room

Hello everyone - KJP goodluck today and thanks for the thread - waves to the early birds! Hope you all have a great day.

Ok today - a 'non' work day (I work every other day but often work 'leaks' into life, so I'm trying to keep work in 'work' days.

Banks to check - all OK but WTFC different? does that mean they've done my renewal - I shudder as who knows how they come up with their figures........
CC to check - all under control but needing racked back a bit.
    Hens to collect eggs
    Text chum about eggs
    Dogs to walk locally
Grass to cut (still not done)
Hokeycokey to get out on line as its dry - might do sofa covers.
    Amazon parcel to wrap up
    Meals from cupboards and stores
Clear out airing cupboard and streamline bedding.
Make a bag for charity shop of other stuff
Go through board games and decide if we actually need any of them anymore - haven't played htem in a couple years.
    Pack at least one box
Go and meet lady about lease on new house - £70 a month cheaper than were we are and on a bus route.
Arrange to skpye with kids in france (free)
    Put some stuff on freegle
Clear out somethign from the shed
Make more elderflower cordial - sugar was cheaper to buy a 5kg bag so need make up some syrup
    Text landlady about meeting tonight
text a chum about walking dogs later?
Arrange a cuppa locally with a pal ?
Clear out all kids 'plastic' stuff and give to a pal with a wee baby who's weaning.
Perhaps hoover - but only if I can get myself motivated.
Think about chopping some wood in the shed and bagging it up, as the new house has a woodburner
Try and make it a NSD - I don't need anything
    Talk to OH on skype
Check one poll and do a couple surveys if I can.

OK it seems like a monster list but actually its not too bad - mostly a brain dump!

    Have a good un! :)
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

    Hi everyone :hello:

I'm visiting the parentals this weekend - bringing home a bookcase of my old books to sell/trade - going to re-buy any I want as Kindle books with the proceeds and marvel at all the clear space I will have created.

I found 5 whole British pounds in a purse I rarely use this morning :T

    Doing some Mystery Shopping :)

Bit of voluntary work - make a phone call

Asked a friend if I could have a lift to Scotland with her… Hopefully it'll be ok - makes sense to have 4 of us in her car rather than her car having empty seats and me and OH getting the train, right?

Getting the bus home from friend's wedding rather than staying overnight. £15 max in taxi home from where the bus stops instead of paying for hotel.

Found out the shop downstairs from work sells yesterday's sandwiches for 41p!

    Cards from cheapo shop - 4 for £2.30! :T

Nice to see you back round 'ere, Pippy :) I never did get that trip to your neck of the woods with work - something to do with cutting down on expenses claims… Tut tut to money saving sometimes!

    Checking out free Kindle books.

    xx
