Defaults and Final settlement figures

Hi
I took out a debt management programme a few years ago and am now in a position to pay off the debts. Obviously i would like to offer a final settlement offer rather than pay the full amount if possible. I know that then it will show on my credit file as partially settled rather than settled. What i need to know is will this put lenders off lending?
I am trying to get a mortage and obviously with defaults on my account i am limited to only a small number of lenders. Will lenders who ignore the defaults look negatively on seeing partially settled rather than full?
If anyone could offer some advice that would be great
Thanks

From what I read on here, settled is better than not, partially better than none but not as good as full. Depends on the amount and default age. Older has less impact.:beer:0

When you make the offer (however much), it's on the condition that it's full and final. So it would show "fully settled", that's my understanding anyway!

You must have a very very good mortgage broker or a huge deposit. It's so hard at the moment to obtain a mortgage with credit problems, unless you have a huge income or a great deposit. I only have a few missed payments and I am having serious problems :-/
Hope all works out well for you :-)0
