Mortgage arrears management fees.

Mortgage arrears management fees.
I have arrears on my mortgage account that are entirely made up of charges called an "arrears management fee", which are £50 every month plus interest.
As these are essentially bank/building society charges, can these be claimed back in the same way that is advised for other account fees such as current account and credit card fees?
Regards

What caused the arrears in the first place? was it late payments.Who I am is not important. What I do is.0

The charges started when a payment was late and they have now snowballed. Although they have been kept informed of my situation.
I dispute the amount charged as I see it as excessive.
