Hi,

We are looking to do our own table decs to save money and was wondering if anyone knew where to pick up cheap centre pieces/ fish bowls etc?

Florists want around £21 per table.

Thanks in advance.

My friend go the bowls themselves for £5 each from Poundstrecher, but that doesnt sound much cheaper once you add flowers etc! £12 is a pretty good price.

Someone asked this recently (in the last week) so maybe do a search and that thread will come up.

second hand is generally the cheapest but unless they are close to you then the postage will just bump up the price anyways

Sorry that should have read £21 not £12. I did do a search for fish bowls but nothing came up. Just want something to go on tables that's as cheap as possible.

Flowers are expensive enough don't want to have to pay nearly £200 just to decorate.

    Hi

I got married three weeks ago. For my centrepieces i brought my vases from Ikea - £1.49 each (Rektangel). I filled them ivory pearl beads - £1.99 per pack from Ebay and then my florist did white Gerbas for each vase at a cost of £10 each (approx 5 flowers in each).
i surrounded my vases with tea lights and the light reflected of the pearl beads.

fish bowls do tend to be a little more expensive to buy and the flowers that fit in them are limited...

Do you have a Whittingtons near you? I went to our local one last weekend and they had all sorts of sizes at good prices, you don't need to be a florist, they sell to the public too.

Maybe see if there is a wedding swap/sell page on Facebook for your area? The one of Kent is awesome, people have given me little bits that I need and I have sold bits I don't want through there too :)

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

Dunelhm mill do them for £5. We had a few for decorations at the ceremony with pepples and silk flowers in.

for centre pieces the venue supplied mirrored plates and we put a big ball candle in our colour in the middle with tea lights in wee glass holders around the outside, all from ikea.
