Recently I made hankies and reusable sanitary towels out of old fleece and an old shower curtain and old duvet sheet.

Did you have instructions for this or did you make it up? I was thinking of buying some reusable sanitary towels but I'd love to have a go at making some instead! :)

No, I looked online for ages and found directions from someone called oneproudmomma. Can I do a link to it? Anyway, I liked her design because, well, one I understood it coz there was no American words I don't understand. She said you could use old fleece jumpers, nylon shower curtain and cotton from bed sheets or the like which I thought was great coz I had all those things. I made them a bit smaller than she said because of the width of the gusset. Her size, in my estimation, would fit a 12. Fun to make and so much nicer to wear. I used poppers like she did also.

Brilliant - thank you very much! I just googled oneproudmomma and clicked on the first website that came up and they're in the Frugal living section for anyone else who wants to look (I don't know about the link, sorry!). It looks like quite an interesting website.

I don't have an old fleece or shower curtain but I'll read through and see if I can substitute anything I do have, otherwise I saw a pack of two shower curtains in the 99p store the other day! :)

I didn't have a fleece either, got my mum to donate that and I only used the arms. Now I've got about 5 old fleeces. What else to do with those??
Another thing you can do, well I did, with the old shower curtain is use the spare hooks for replacing pegs that came off my £1, oh darn, I don't know the name of it... you know the thing you hang up socks on to dry? It has a hanger bit and its round and has cheap plastic pegs. (I'm a bit frazzled) Well, I bought one from poundland and as its so cheap many of the pegs fell off and the shower curtain hooks were great to put in instead and you can hang pants and socks on them.
