I bought the house with my brother in 2007. He emigrated to Australia 5 years ago and as my wages havent gone up,

Then you have your brother to blame. As no doubt he knew of the move whilst buying the property.

Nram might be pulling fast one with this svr - 0.01 trick, but complaining that they are robbing you when you're on 4.78% is a bit of a joke.

But as NRAM is taxpayer owned, surely it should have lower rates, so taxpayers pay less!

I was looking through my paperwork this weekend as I was hoping that I would qualify for the discount. My Fixed rate ended in July 11, and I have a letter dated April 11 that says something along the lines of 'your fixed rate is ending, you will be moved onto the SVR which is currently 4.79%.'

Then I checked my statements since then to find I'm on the 4.78%, so does that mean I don't qualify for the loyalty bonus? Just a bit weird since I didn't sign up to that, and it contradicts the letter they sent me.

If you have a Together product, you are not entitled to the loyalty discount.

Check your key facts illustration and mortgage offer. The letter does not "supercede" them.
