How long do you have to give them to "Prove it"

Hey Everyone! Hope you're all ok! Just a quick question, I have sent two prove it letters, one to SRJ Debt recovery and one to First Credit for two alleged debts......This was some weeks ago and I've had no response to either...Does anyone know if there a time limit within which they have to reply?

No specific limit set down in law or guidelines to a simple "prove it" letter.
Saying that, a collector should not pursue collection activity while they have not yet responded and provided proof of a reasonably queried or disputed debt.
Plus if you have raised a complaint that you may wish to progress to an ombudsman (FOS, comms etc), then of course the collector has 8 weeks to issue a final response to you.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
