Unclaimed Compensation Bureau (UCB)

Anybody heard of these guys please ? Also call themselves 'UCB'.

I keep getting calls from them on my mobile (blocked number) about a car accident claim I made last year. My insurance compnay knows nothing about them at all and I'm wondering how they managed to get my number and other information.

As soon as I challenge them they hang up immediately. A google search doesn't throw up much at all.

Thanks

  • I have also had calls from them. They originally told my partner the other party had admitted fault which was completely false as its still in dispute. I advised them that my insurance company have never heard of them and he got off the phone sharpish saying he would check with his supervisor.
  • No such business registered with the MOJ.

I suggest you forward all spam texts to 7726 (spells spam). Your network will then block the number.

I have also had dealings with these. I was taken in first time round - they knew details of the accidents, my name, 3rd party name, car registrations. I proceeded with their recommendation and received a letter from a solicitors firm which is registered - all seeming very legitimate.

"too good to be true" rang in my ears so i called my insurers - they have never heard of the UCB, and their own team would be the ones who arranged for claims of compensation, etc.

They suspect someone is selling claims details to a 3rd party so have launched a data investigation. The 3rd party then provides your details as "smart leads" to no win-no fee solicitors and likely takes a cut.

Advice from insurer was to get as much info as possible and report it.
