How long do it take for Credit Agencies too add Electrol registries?

Hi, I want to apply for a credit card. On July 2nd, I was added to the electoral registry, now just want to know how long it takes for credit agencies to update their details? Just trying to do everything to improve my credit. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Apparently councils only send updates of the registers to the credit reference agencies once per month.

Can't remember when in the month this tends to be offhand?

So could show up pretty soon, or if you just missed the previous update being sent could I suppose be a few weeks yet.

  • we do rolling registration (list of alteration) throughout the year so if youve filled in the form/notified the electoral services team you should be added to the register which is published on the 1st of the month - though the cut off date for this is usually the first week of the previous month - ie register by 7th march to be added on 1st april. The exception to this is October and November as nothing is updated then due to canvassing and then you have to wait until 1st December to be included as thats when the full register is published.

So, if you contacted the council to get added on 2nd July you wont actually be able to be picked up by redit ref agencies until the beginning of August.
