Roubini sticks to 2013 "perfect storm" prediction

Nouriel Roubini.
Another of those self publicists who constantly make a number of dire predictions, and when one of the many is 50% right, like to claim that they and only they had the foresight to see it coming.
A complete !!!!!! !!!
He's not the messiah, he's just a very naughty boy.0 -
I'm beginning to think the world is overly obsessed with growth and just has to get used the idea of some years of zero / low growth as we've only the one planet to support it all.
Makes good media. Shame there isn't the same obsession with balance of trade or consumer indebtedness. Both of which will have a significant bearing on how quickly the UK at a macro level turns around.0 -

I assume you meant this one, which I'd bookmarked. The economy is turning around fast - you won't percieve this as your mind filters out upswing evidence and only files downside evidence.
I can't be @ssed to go into the evidence this time as it will fall on deaf ears.
All I'll say is, remember these words - by summer this year the new prosperity era will be underway and plenty of green shoot (ah yes those shoots) will be visible by then.
Of course you will dismiss this nonsense, afterall your'e a realist right:beer:, neg heads are always realists:rotfl:
Mind you I've made a few predictions on these forums, which have been proved to be way off the mark too!0 -
Funny. Blame it on the weather Conrad.0

That just about sums up Conrad, he changes with the wind
although to be fair as one famous economist reputedly wrote 'Well when events change, I change my mind. What do you do?' 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
I'm a naturally optimistic type like Conrad and I think he's got a point.
Falling unemployment, falling inflation, car manufacturing particularly strong, lots of investment from companies like Diageo, the deficit did come in on target last financial year, exports data is of course volatile but there have been some improvements in exports to BRIC countries, not all bad news in the housing market, banking system strengthening, deleveraging continues (arguable, but I think it's a necessary evil).
Definitely some positives in you look hard enough. It's all a long term game of course, but I remain cautiously optimistic.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

That's what I was thinking. One wonders if certain people have a 'don't want to believe' rather than a 'don't believe' standpoint.0 -
Who came up with the perfect storm quote to stat with? I think it was Mike Maloney, now everyone is using it.The thing about chaos is, it's fair.0

Some egomaniac or other, trying to get his name on the internet.
Sad thing is, there are people dumb enough to fall for all this crap 'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0
