Wednesday 18th July - What small DFW things will you do?!?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

morning  couldn't believe we weren't started already!!! Bt where are you??!? :p

So quick posting before I dash off...

  • check banking - although not expecting any change
  • breakfast & lunch from stores - dinner at friend's. She doesn't drink so think I will grab some juice to take
  • check onepoll & swagbucks - have 619SB so think if I really push it this week could order my 1st voucher by the weekend
  • check cc2
  • quick shower - didn't wash hair I will do that later at swimming pool
  • swimming in my lunch break
  • read newsletter will order card and print off voucher for L'Oreal
  • update mileage

ok think that's me :D Have a great day, better dash! x

Morning DNM! I'm kicking about soon to go to work - thanks for starting us off. I've been away for such a while I didn't like to do it!

Today - as womble land (recycling charity I work for) calls me to the mother ship - I've got the water on for a shower -

    Need
    Make lunch
    Walk dogs
    Focus today and work hard
Go to town to do a few things (combine petrol) - clients grass to cut and some helping at college to keep my hand in
Buy sugar (have vouchers, so hopefully a NSD) to make elderflower cordial
    Collect flowers for said cordial
    Feed hens and collect eggs
Cut my own grass with the smaller mower
    Give darwin a drive
Sort through a few forms in post to do for DD being 16 this week
Arrange a visit with the landlord new lady and sort out lease for new house.
HM tea - probably more tuna fish casserole as I'm not dead today
Sort out another drawer for charity shop/recycling
Begin to make an ebay pile
    Walk the dogs
    Banks to check
CC to check- PAD of £100 to captain card, £6.40 to Lucifer.
One poll - try and do a few more surveys again and push that figure up to £40 payout
Do more cleaning if I'm really naughty
Do another load or two of washing (kids bedding) as its dry.

Just done a budget via budgetbritian and it was a bit depressing where I was really honest - need to work harder - I'd put up the food spends etc a bit - so maybe its not time for that yet! Oh well back to the grind eh?

So that's me today.............hope you all have a good un!
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:

Morning DNMS, Pippi and all who follow. I've been debating starting us of but conscious of a double thread. I'm glad you were braver than I am!

    List so far:
    • breakfast from stores - if two chocolate digestives count as breakfast
    • fed and watered the chickens
    • checked for surveys - balance only £12 at the moment
    • checked banking

    I will also:
    • have a Stitching Witch day and try to finish at least one order
    • think of an eggy dinner as there are 24 on the rack
    • have all meals and snacks from stores
    • make a mock Black Forest cake - just chocolate sponge with cherry jam and whipped cream filling, simple but yummy
    • keep an eye on surveys
    • use bike for appointment in town as it costs pennies in petrol rather than expensive bus. I just *love* living in a village!!!
    • fill bike with petrol at a cost of around £10, will last about 2 weeks :)

My "reasons to give up work" list amounted to an A4 sheet yesterday, but it was shot down in flames by two words from DH - Debt & Rayburn. I still have £4K to clear on my credit cards and also we have a Rayburn sitting in the kitchen which needs renovating and installing. It's been an "ornamental feature" for a year now and really needs to be sorted out so we can use it. So, no notice this month
Still, I have an appointment with the Psychology Therapy Unit today to learn some coping techniques so I may feel more positive by tonight :D

    Have a good day folks

    Hi everyone :hello:

    Shh, I'm 'working' ;)

    Here's me:
    - avoided the sandwich shop and made one in work instead
    - free cuppa in work
    - turned a few things off to see if they made a difference to the leccy OWL - they didn't!
    - Walking home from work
    - More mystery shopping
    - Check for surveys
    - See if there is anything to sell
    - Spoke to recruitment consultant - £7k extra could be mine if I moved to South East - probably then cost me an extra £7k to live :rotfl:
    - Thinking up many a 'get rich quick' scheme :(

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hello all!

Not a huge DFW day for me really.

    - needed ibuprofen, had to buy branded pack as chemist had no cheaper ones in stock - £1.95!
-need to wash bedding (only did it on Sunday!) because cat been sick on it :(

    DFW things though:

    - planned next week's menu around budget meals found in old cookery mag, hopefully won't spend much on big shop Fri eve. :p

    - turkey curry for tea using some old looking mushrooms and some turkey steaks found in freezer (at least I think it's turkey, could turn out to be pork when it's defrosted) ;)

    - breakfast and lunch from stores

    - free water/coffee at work

    - surveys to do later

    Hi all,

Just stopping in to keep up the habit - need to get back to posting in the mornings though!

Thanks for starting us off DNMS, Stitchy hope your appt goes well and Starnac hope your DD is better soon!

Today I have or will be about to do:
    Check banks
Transfer money from OH to CC
    Check CCs
    Check TCB
    Check Ebay
    SB clicks
AAT revision - final exam for level 3 tomorrow night, eek!
    Food from stores
    Car share to work
Post friend's card with free stamp from surveys - it doesn't matter that it's a Christmas one!
    NSD!

Right, off to revise some more and ponder whether I should apply for a job I saw today... Not much of a payrise but probably a welcome change and challenge, been in my current dept for 8 years and this job now for 4, love it to bits but if I think like that I'll never leave, and progression from where I am is very limited as I don't think I have the necessaries to be in a management position. Can't lose anything by applying, anyway!

    Have a great night all,
    Kxx
