Donegal has its own airport, and they have flights going to/from Glasgow. Airport website

Another option would be to travel from Glasgow Prestwick to City of Derry airport with Ryanair, though this isn't as convenient as Donegal.

Regards accommodation, maybe have a look at Discover Ireland for suggestions and idea of prices.

If you're lucky someone with a holiday home in Donegal will be along on this thread and offer you a wonderful bargain!

  • A company called Dohertys Coaches also run a relatively frequent service from Glasgow to Donegal. Seems to be pretty popular so I assume it's quite reasonably priced.

As a new user, I can't post a link but they come out of the bag first on a google search

Depends on what part of Donegal you are looking to go to.

If looking letterkenny or Inishowen (Buncrana etc) area - City of Derry Airport is probably best
If looking further west Gweedore, Dungloe then Donegal airport is probably best.

I would guess that Glasgow Prestwick - Derry flights are cheaper (its Ryanair) than Glasgow donegal flights (now Flybe)

For places to stay in Donegal town you could try the http://www.abbeyhoteldonegal.com/ its right in the town square. My bro recently stayed in a B&B just outside the town I'll try to get the number from him
