internet food shopping

next time im due to do a big food shop i was thinking about doing it online? Thought it might save me some money as i have a habit of buying things that are a bargin and end up buying more than i should! so I thought if i did an internet shop ok will pay for delivery but then that will save me petrol. kids wont want extras. no trips into coffee shop. I only buy what i need.....do you think this is a good option. Im a fan of all thesupermarkets. I am 9 miles away from somerfield, asda, morrisons, waitrose, tesco...only 2 that dont do delivery by me is somerfield and morrisons....

I am doing the same thing and I am finding that both my wallet and my waistline are benefiting.

So far I have always found a coupon / code that covers the cost of the delivery or points which can be better in some cases.

Also by shopping online I have stopped all those impulse purchases, ie the Chocolate biscuits that are on bogof and the crisps too.

You really end up saving by not spending on impulse purchases and not being tempted by all the sugary stuff and desserts. I used Tesco from the outset of the service but gave up after a couple of years as the vegetables always ended up mashed or damaged. They were good about picking up and replacing items but it was the hassle of hanging around waiting for the replacements (not scheduled) that in the end made me give up using the service.

Aside from that there always were items that weren't in stock and often they were staples so it became too irritating.

I started to do this in January and haven't looked back.

Initally I used Tesco's but experienced a few problems from time to time so I changed to Sainbury's and I absolutley cannot fault their service - yes it is slightly mre expensive but is still cheaper than going to the Supermarket.

Also once you have done a couple of shops on line in takes o time at all as all your previous shopping lists have been saved.
