Can headlight adaptors for the continent be fitted before leaving the country? My neighbour who's a bit of a petrol head says you shouldn't fit them until you're across the channel as they dazzle uk drivers. I was under the impression they suppressed the beam for viewing road signs and it didn't matter when they were fitted. Who is right?

    Both of you.
They won't dazzle in the uk, they do remove the part of the beam that shines to the left. It's best to fit them when you're waiting to load onto the ferry or the train, then you have decent headlights in the uk, but are prepared for France.

Thanks Mikey next time I go abroad I'll wait until the crossing at least I now have the faint outline from the last trip which makes fitting quicker.

My old man still has his on his car from 2009. He goes back and forth to france regularly and resents spending 4.99 every trip. Cant wait to tel him to make sure he gets a breathalyzer for his next trip!

Still not quite sure how hes not come across this site.

If he buys it in this country make sure it has the NF mark, otherwise it is of no use to him in France
