President unsalted butter was shelf-labelled as 1.50 which is 20p dearer than Budgens near my mother's place but 10p cheaper than my local Morrison's, Tesco and Sainsbury's.
I grabbed the last two and when I got my till receipt they scanned as 1.25 each, which is even cheaper than Budgens.
So I mention it in case it's a national glitch. Even at 1.50 it's cheaper than some.

Isnt President butter, american ,that means corn fed cows which means more omega6 from this sugary crop ?

President is French butter, IIRC from Normandy.
American milk is banned from the EU because American cows are fed bovine growth hormones which aren't allowed here.
I haven't seen American butter or cheese here. The Monterey Jack I saw last week was made here to the American recipe in the same way that they make Cheddar in Canada.
American cows are usually kept indoors year round and fed on GM feed/corn.
GM feed/corn can be fed to cows in the EU and this doesn't have to be labelled, I checked with DEFRA. Only organic butter, cheese and milk are a guarantee that that the cows haven't been fed GMfeed/corn.
I called/emailed Sainsbury's, ASDA, Morrisons, Waitrose and Lidl and of these only Waitrose bans farmers from feeding GM crops/feed to any animals/poultry destined to be Waitrose own brand products across all ranges not just organic.0
