New home gift ideas please

Hi everyone, my brothers long term girlfriend has bought her first flat and he has moved in with her.

I need to give them a gift this week as its the only chance I'll get to see them for a while, so I'm lacking time and money!!!

I'd thought of a hamper but I won't have time to make one up, does anyone have any magical ideas??

I've recently done a washing up bowl full of 'useful' items eg loo rolls, cleaning clothes, bottles of cleaning products etc

All wrapped up in cellophane and tied off with a bow.

A hamper of cleaning stuff - rubber gloves/ bin liners/ fly spray/ oven cleaner etc. All the stuff that you never know you need.

How about a nice biscuit tin? B&M have a great selection at very reasonable prices, or any of the big supermarkets. You can then get a few packets of nice biscuits to go in it or bake some yourself!
  • We bought a personalised doormat for our friends a few months ago that had moved house with "Welcome to the Adams Residence" it look fab and they love it! At least it showed we put some thought in too! Think it was about £25 from Dieselfrog.com they post it out really fast if you need too :) sorry if its too late ...
  • hi,

this is a really dull and boring idea but how about a basic tool kit...nice box and a few diy type tools such as screw driver set, tape measure etc...

also if there flat does not have one how about a smoke alarm, fire blanket, etc. these are often over looked

    and a first kit

A Giftcard for a supermarket? bottle of champagne?
  • What about an Ikea gift card? Doesn't have to be worth much but will treat them to some new bed linens, cushions, lampshades etc.
  • scented candles would be great
