In the meantime clean it off with a dilute bleach solution. It will keep coming back until the cause of the dampness has been addressed and the brickwork has completely dried out. This can take some time, especially in this cool and humid weather. Meanwhile fungus can be a health hazard so get scrubbing.0

Try a solution of tea tree oil and bleach, I have had to use it in DS's bedroom for the same reason. If you can get your hands on a dehumidifier it will help too.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Thanks for this thread, I've got mould on our bathroom ceiling and have been mulling over how to tackle it. Was going to crack out the vinegar, but glad to hear before I started about not using bleach, which would have been my next choice.
Just need to get a sponge mop now as we have high ceilings and I can't reach even when sanding on our 'hop up' step
Fingers crossed I've not left it too late!:j0 -
We get this in our bedroom, the landlord has been supposedly fixing it for the last year...
Anyway poundland sell 2 'damp traps' in a pack and we have found they really help collect excess moisture which may help combined with the scrubbing in the short term.0
