Trying to settle a CCJ for mortgage application

    I just wanted to add although I know very little I do have a friend who had a very similar problem.

    She found a CCJ after ordering her Noddle CR although she had both the other two (Experian, Equifax) and it didn't show on these.

    She really struggled to get a mortgage it was such a nightmare; they had tooing and frowing and eventually they did get one as a couple but with a substansial fee and they had to put down I am almost certain in the region of 25%.

    In the current market I can not see any lender offering a mortgage at 95% or even 90%.

    I am no expert but from what I see on the boards even the most immaculate records can cause problems - mine would be a nightmare!

    everyone I've met with a ccj makes the same defence - that they didn't know about the debt / had moved to a new address etc.

    The same criteria applies for Council Tax liability orders despite my local authority having a five step pre-action protocol before the outstanding debt reaches court.
