Sewing - any tips on mending tulle?

I can't see me ever wearing my wedding dress again, so I'm looking to sell it. There's a problem though - at the reception someone put their chair leg on the very fine tulle that's laid over the satin on the train and put a 1" long L shaped tear in it 
Otherwise it's a lovely Alfred Angelo dress which deserves to be worn again - can I fix it? I can sew & embroider but have never sewn tulle before...

If you lend someone £20 and never see them again, it was probably £20 well spent...
