Help Mortgage Advisors

Options
I need recommendation of mortgage advisers (whole market) that are fee free. The 1st mortgage I got I had to pay a fee which I did :( as I was new to this concept.

This time round I am hoping I can find someone who is fee free. So if anyone can recommend me anyone or a website that would be really helpful.

Thanks,

Was the fee to the broker for the advice, or the lender as an arrangement/booking fee?

If you are looking for recommendations, you should specify where you are (roughly), otherwise you might get a recommendation for someone 300 miles away!
    I am a mortgage adviser.

The fee was to the broker which I paid once I got the keys to the house. He was an estate agent broker very professional and very knowledgeable. This broker was based in Ilford, I only had to visit him when I had to submit my id/proof etc. Most paperwork was done via post.

I am in London, near Stockwell. Hope this helps

Do you want whole market advice - ie the broker will only consider lenders/products which pay him a commission, or independent advice where the broker considers all deals, even direct-to lender deals which may be better for you?

If it's the latter, paying a fee may be better as any commission which results would be rebated to you to reduce/remove the fee. If there's no commission paid, the better deal may still make up for any fee you pay.

It's your call. Many people think whole market means independent, when that isn't the case.

If you used a national chain estate agency adviser you probably got the worst of all - a panel of lenders, paid a fee and the adviser received commission on top.

I dont mind as long as I dont have to pay the broker a fee but still expect a reasonable service.

Why do you so object to paying for proper impartial advice? Cheapness is not usually the way to get quality.

People forever bemoan all the mis selling scandals, on after another in the press lately, and here we have the root cause for it all - people expecting others who need to make a living, to have to rely on prodcuts that pay commision.

What do you do that's free? I might employ you.:rotfl:
