Tuesday 17th July - What small DFW things will you do?!?
bt1
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!
:money:
Morning!
I crashed out last night, was so tired! Managed to get up early again today tho
List:
- check bank and transfer rounding to cc
- check cc
- lunch - work lunch but will keep cheap and use taste card
- try and get to post office to send back bf present
- swimming tonight, will try and stay in for an hour
- work hard
- another early night
- NSD apart from lunch

Good morning all, and thanks to bt1 for starting us offtoday.
Not much happening in the world of the Witch so my list is small today. So far:
· healthy, filling breakfast so I don’t go and buy a croissant from the bakery
· made packed lunches for DH and myself
· fed and watered the chickens
· got a lift to work with a colleague
I will also:
· keep an eye on surveys throughout the day
· drink free coffee at work
· knit at lunchtime to avoid the shops
· lift home with colleague
· dinner from stores
· check banking – should still be in the black –just!
· write down my arguments for handing in my notice at the end of the month – okay, this is not very MSE at all, but I think it NEEDS to be done to protect my mental health
Nothing too outlandish there (apart from the last point)so time to get on with some work I suppose….

Hello everyone!
Thanks for starting us, BT.
its great how much bestie time you get, DNMS, I need to invest more in my friend-making...
Sounds awful, LPP! Hope you feel better.
Exciting news, Stitchy! Good for you, its a brave move but I'm sure it will be for the best.
Big things in the life of NBTY - I've taken the offer to stay on in Uganda, having been offered a big raise and a more interesting role to keep me. I'm massively chuffed, it means that starting in September I'll be saving way more and hopefully building skills that are important career wise. My mum is here visiting and my birthday is on the weekend so feeling like things are going ok
In MSE today:
- Eat all the expensive things at the breakfast buffet for a breakfast meeting
Om nom salmon!
- bike everywhere
- book accommodation for trip with mum over the weekend - expensive but she's not here often so splurging a bit
- exchange some money for her while she's away on safari (back tomorrow)
- gym in eve if not too sore from yesterday
- leftover chili for tea
Happy tuesday, all!Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000
Debt free as of 1 October, 2010
