How do I stop debt selling-on after 10 years?

Well, thanks for the replies. Needless to say that I have been returning these letters but, as you can imagine, after 10 years it is getting tedious in the extreme. OK, in the cosmic scheme of things I guess there are worse things that can befall you but I just wondered if there was a 'done and dusted' way of saying 'that's it'. It appears not.

Incidentally, I didn't really want to go into the whole thing as it's pretty tedious, but the letters followed me from my last address because the person who lived there was in debt and the debt companies assumed - incorrectly - that they moved with me. I've done a name search and, amusingly enough, the last known address of the person they are seeking is my old address of 10 years ago. I know for a fact that this person has changed their name and also this person is not registered anywhere that would link them to the old address.

The opening of someone else's mail is a herring rouge as far as I'm concerned and I'm not bothered about it one way or the other. Big Debt Chasers Inc are hardly likely to be coming after me for that!

Quite often these companies regard ANY contact as a hit in the target, even returned not a this address is a hit on target.
Either play silly games of putting it back in the box to come back, or just fill the bin.
