Thanks everyone - we got somewhere (hurrah!) and have been there since the 20th and staying til this Friday.
No internet access though, so apologies that Im only replying now!
Ill reply to the PMS now0 -
Yes but thats the financial reality - those who wish to let accommodation for a few weeks will only let as holiday lets at holiday let prices - they will not want the hassle of the admin required for long term lets - deposit, inventory, rental agreement etc - only to have to do it all again a month later. The minimum they would consider would be 6 months and even that is unlikely. Ring a couple of letting agents and discuss it with them. Maybe you could get a short term rent at the end of someone's tenancy but I doubt it.
ThanksI did realise this to an extent - Im not knowledgable in the ins and outs of renting!-, which is why I was hoping folk who rent via gumtree (so no letting agents fees involved) or in between tenants might be able to take us on - few quid in their pocket etc esp now that rates have to be paid even on empty buildings. (vague knowledge about this though!)
Thankfully, its been working out well so far0
