Help with Parking 23rd July

I am hoping someone familiar with the area around the Olympic Park can help with suggestions.

I am attending the technical rehearsal of the opening ceremony on the 23rd. Thought I was organised as have booked a hotel near the Stratford shopping centre. I have now discovered that all parking is now closed at the centre.

I've tried to look for mainline stations with Parking, on the outskirts so I can get a train in, but that is taking me out towards Chelmsford. I come from Bath, so if anyone has any ideas of stations I would be grateful.

Situation complicated by the fact my wife and nephew were coming along for the trip, and my wife has some mobility problems (blue badge holder) of course when I initially checked and arranged this I didn't see parking as an issue. I would really like to find somewhere that means we can all still have a day out and night away.

Hope that helps. If the parking is too pricey, I guess you could always try and rent a room for the night in someone's house?

Thank you for your reply quatro fromageo, unfortunately like all the other sites I found, everything starts from the 27th July. I am wondering if there is something similar that already exists, not just set up for the games.

Some positive news is, I have managed to get the whole of the 24th July off work, as I now don't need to be back for 11am, public transport is a possibility, although not ideal for my wife and her condition.

    Can anyone else help?

Thank you, again, your comment made me think of "park at my house" it's come up with some options, so hopefully something will be available.

If you don't mind a rather long tube journey than you could park at one of the tube stations on the north-west side of London. Many stations on the metropolitan line (ruislip, ruislip manor, eastcote, rayners lane) have fairly large tube station car parks.

It will however take you about an hour in the tube to Olympic village.

On the plus side, will save you a lot of the london traffic as these stations are not too far from M4 which you might be taking into London.

That's the one! I couldn't remember the name of it. It was on the tip of my tongue.

I am also using the park at my house website - I have a space booked with a householder who lives seconds from the train station I will be using when I'm working my shifts as a volunteer. Cheaper and also not having the hassle if able to get a car park space - fighting for a space not only with commuters but also spectators.

Getting back in touch to see if able to use on the 23rd July as well for the technical rehearsal.

I think it was from a thread on this forum that I first got the idea so thank you whoever it was that posted the thread.:o
