Monday 16th July - What small DFW things will you do?!?
bt1
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

Morning all, and thanks to bt1 for starting the thread today. I've had a good few non-MSE days again, but the new sewing room is almost finished now so I can put away the purse and get back into the DFW mind-set.

So far today:- quick shower instead of a relaxing bath
- made packed lunch to take to work
- fed and watered the chickens
- checked banking
- checked for surveys
- get lift to and from work with a colleague in exchange for eggs
- drink free coffee at work
- DH getting shopping so he pays
- keep an eye on surveys throughout the day
- read at lunchtime to avoid the shops
- dinner from stores
- carry on with customer's waistcoat tonight
- have an NSD
I also got a refund from the water company of £146 as they were suposed to fit our meter by 19th April, and actually fitted it on 29th June. They've refunded the water rates for the 10 weeks they delayed it!! That paid for the new chair and blind for the sewing room
Have a great day folks,

Hi everyone
Here's me:
- Walked to work
- Mystery shopping on lunch break
- Visit cheapo shop for toiletries
- Bought this week's work lunches - £2.75 for the week - chicken and coleslaw sandwiches
- Yoga tonight - keeping me on the straight and narrow
- Enter comp
- Sort ebay sales - may need to buy padded envelopes
- Look out for surveys
- Consider what else I could sell
- Checked banking was all in order - it is but made me a bit sad at the dire state of affairs
Been thinking about how to offset the cost of doing up our bedroom… I get my bonus in T minus 9 days which should cover paint and a new carpet. Hoping stuff we're selling will raise money for wardrobes - getting DIY fitted wardrobes so going to buy them bit-by-bit - is only £39 for a wardrobe frame and one rail - two of those will do for now/before we can get all the funky inside bits and expensive sliding doors.0 -

Today's been busy! Only just got out of work... So worked 2 extra hours today and they don't pay overtime... But it's all good as I'm going for a role at work that pays more and is exactly what I want to do! Hopefully all this hard work will help towards me getting it!
Didn't have time to go to post office so will see if my mum can go tomorrow as I think tomorrow will be just as busy for me! :-/
Although busy= no spending
