Does it normally take this long?

Hi,

I have applied to remortgage with HSBC. We want the mortgage to start 06 May 07 which was agreed at the start.

Everything was going fine, until we got a letter from HSBC with the figure to pay our exist company off and a warning an early redemption fee applies and has been added to the mortgage.

We rang HSBC and said the early redemption fee does not apply from the 01st May and they were going to correctly ask again for a final figure for the 06 May 07.

This was over 6 weeks ago. I have chased my new mortgage provider but they are still waiting for the final figure from the TSB as they will be working on datal order.

Is this normal?

If the penalty isn't up till 1/05 then there's no point getting a redemption figure till then, which is what your new mortgage co's solicitors will be waiting for.

Hi,

The HSBC say my bank will be able to quote for a future redemption date. Is this correct?
