I have 2 dogs and love them to bits.. I would try and have another word with the neighbour and see if you can smooth it out,your hubby might have caught them at a bad time.....

Although some training techniques suggest that you ignore a barking dog as to react could be interpreted, by the dog, as an acknowledgement that the barking is OK. Perhaps the neighbour has read "that particular dog training" book ...?

To break the ice, perhaps suggest that you walk your dogs together?
