Contact Santander and ask for a copy of all statements on the account if you don't have copies.
You don't agree to an unarranged overdraft, that's why it's "unarranged", it means that you have spent money from the account when there wasn't any money in there- presumably the phone top ups- and you have been charged a fee for that. Why did you top up your phone from an empty account? Every time you do that you get a charge for going overdrawn, plus interest on the money you've borrowed.
Stop using the account to top up and offer Santander a monthly amount to pay it off.0 -
You need to act quickly and ensure you keep to the arrangement.
Santander screwed me over, even when we were at the Ombudsman for a complaint.
The Ombudsman confirmed to me that because I did not repay the balance of the account when requested (the same day) I had breached the terms and conditions and therefore they could report negative data on my credit report.
The money and charges were the least of my worries and were all returned as compensation after the Ombudsman investigation, however they refuse to remove the negative data from my credit report and nobody can make them as I did breach the terms and conditions.
Santander are horrible !0 -
unless i am mistaken-and i apologise if i am,
you used santanders money to top up your phone as you had no money in your account
they weren't happy,so are charging you, which they are allowed to
but you "don't want to pay it".
if someone used your money without permission, surely you would do exactly the same??
pay them back for goodness sakeLIVE SIMPLY * GIVE MORE * EXPECT LESS * BE THANKFUL0 -
If you have a santander account are you set up for internet banking.
I would suspect that most of the money you owe is made up of charges and interest.
If you ask for copy statements they can charge you for each and every one, maybe a chaeper way is to SAR them as that costs £10.
You could of course just ask them to provide a list of charges etc applied to your account which they should provide for free.
If I were you , I would talk to them and ask to set up a repayment plan and that they freeze interest and charges. Then do not use your card again, you were very silly to do that.
I think you will have no option to pay it back0
