Second Job Tax rate?

Hello all.

I have had a browse online and cannot find any info about second income tax rates.

Does anybody here have any idea on whether the tax on a 2nd job makes it worthwhile to do?

Thanks.

Once you have earned your personal allowance you pay tax on every pound you earn.......whether you have one job or 10 jobs.......but you employer averages out what you are likely to earn in one year and takes a 52nd of likely tax every week..........unless you earn more than the taxable standard rate then you will pay at a higher rate, but only on the excess above the basic rate.................

Out of your second job's wages you will pay 22 pence in the pound tax on every pound you earn...........up to the next tax band........

If you add your income from both jobs together, you pay the income tax that applies to your total earnings. As antenna says, that probably means that you will pay basic rate income tax on all of your earnings from the second job.

There is national insurance to pay as well - this might help

its probably 22% tax and no NI but if you say what your main job gross pay is and what your part time job is then we could be more certain
