VM phone - deal or no deal?

I got a letter today which said:
"The price of our monthly phone packages is coming down, so Size: XL (Talk unlimited) will go from £14 a monoth to £9.95 . . . . . . . . . Your phone line will stay the same at £11 a month"
(should 'is' read 'are' ??)
What is the point of writing to tell me there will be no change?
or
Why do people on a higher phone package now pay less than me, and they rub salt in the wounds by TELLING me?
I was going to ditch sky , but may change my mind.
