I was looking for the same and cheap washing powder and came across this one which is one which is £1.99 cheaper and works out £6.30 for the 36 rolls. £10.99 and 7.99 postage. If you buy 216 rolls it woks out £5.33 for 36 rolls. They also have washing up liquid for £17.99 for 4 x 5 litre bottles which is £4.50 per 5 litre bottle and 90p per litre.

I'll let you know how they are when I get them. I wish I lived in Leeds because they say they can deliver free if you spend £35.

Toilet rolls arrived today, opened the pack to have a look and feel of them.
comparing them to the cushelle that i have open.
The rolls are smaller in height by 1/4in and thinner where you place the cushelle on top, circumference by quite a bit as well. They also feel thin.
I will not be buying any more. I will stick with the cushelle that I buy, yes the price difference is 10p per roll but i feel the cushelle to be better value for money.
I can also tell you, my mum and my sister both thought they looked really cheap.
I would really class them as about the same quality as the ones you can get in poundstretchers which are doing 18rolls x2 for £5 but these are more expensive being £6.99 for 36.
I will use them, but i wont be buying anymore.

Yes, but what does it do to your.............oh, forget it !!!:rotfl:
  • My husband suggested looking for cheap toilet roll to buy in bulk but I haven't yet found a cheaper alternative to what we already buy. Our household purchase the bog standard value toilet rolls from Tesco or Asda and both are around 16p per roll of 200 sheets. For all those who buy branded, I suggest converting to cheap toilet roll for a month and you'll get used to it. I cannot find anywhere that beats the supermarket price of 16p a roll.

    3 years late!
  • 4 years late now but I've recently bought a supply of Nicky soft touch toilet rolls from Staples at £6.98 for a pack of 36 (with free delivery). We usually use Sainsbury's own brand at £6.65 for 18.

Paper wise, the Nicky seems fine but first impression is that the rolls seem much smaller and lighter and they are only 220 sheets in length v's 250 sheet on the Sainsbury's product plus the sheet size also seems slightly smaller so I wondered if they really were actually any cheaper.

Anyways, in the interest of science, I have dug around the internet and found the actual sheet sizes of both rolls. Using basic maths the Sainsbury's rolls contain some 3.27 M2 of paper and the Nicky much less at 2.42 M2. However, working back to the price per M2 the Sainsbury product comes in at 11.3p per M2 and the Nicky at 8p which is some 30% cheaper.

With free delivery it's Nicky all the way for me..... unless you know better! :-)
