I got Ethiopia, too.. :undecided
(BMI 19, lower than 96% of females in your country)
So what is 'normal' now..? Is it just that generally people are getting bigger?? I would have said I'm a normal adult size. I'm not overweight, but I'm not skinny or emaciated!0 -
I got Estonia.
Hah! At last I have a country with a chance of winning Eurovision!0 -

The mean/ average BMI of British women is 26.87. Men's is 27.62.
(If you hover over the bar for that country it tells you the mean.) It's interesting that there's such a difference between men and women- for men we're 15th on the list but for women we're about 50th.
When I was growing up the "healthy" BMI range was 20-25. They put the lower limit down to 18.5 relatively recently to account for those naturally slender people like you
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

You're most like someone from Swaziland
You have a lower BMI than 66% of females aged 30-44 in your country
You have a higher BMI than 57% of females aged 30-44 in the world
to make it worse I done the test while shovelling Edam cheese slices in my mouth!! Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0 -

I think I understand the Ethiopia thing now...
I'm in my 30s. I know in countries with poor health and poor access to health care, most don't live as long as 30, most die of starvation or in childbirth or in wars long before then. Its a humbling thought, we are more lucky here then we tend to realise.
I think those that do live beyond 25 in Ethiopia would probably be wealthy (and so able to afford to eat well), aid workers (from other countries) or those who have been lifted out of poverty for whatever reason. Combine that to the few that do live beyond 30 in such a poor state of health and you'd likely get an average which is somwhere around the base of normal.
Interesting study they've done- I think it would have been even more interesting if they gave more of an explaination as to why so many countries tend to have people living at a higher weight- many higher then the BMI "healthy" (which is always in dispute) yet it being so widely pushed that to live longer your better off being smaller- seems the data on this survey says otherwise.0 -
BMI 20 , Sri Lanka , ooh, I feel exotic !!!0

Somalia for me, I would class myself as being average sized for my build - short and reasonable small built but not tiny0

I'm pleased with mine. BMI of 23, which is lower than 77% of UK women my age, and lower than 54% of women my age globally.
(Quite surprising though. I'm not fat but I definitely am not thin!)
I'm most like the Philippines.Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0
