Have Amazon stopped refunding price differences?

I noticed an item I bought has come down in price within the past 30 days, so I thought i'd go on to chat and ask someone if they still had the policy of refunding price difference on purchases made within the past 30 days. Apparently they no longer do it. I've had refunds a few times before but can't remember when the last time was.
This is the conversation I had on chat.

You are now connected to Rhomiela from Amazon.co.uk.
Rhomiela: Hello, my name is Rhomiela. I'll be happy to help you. May I have your name, as it appears on the account and the email address please?
Me: hello, my name is xxxxxxxxxxxxx and my email address is xxxxxxxxx
Rhomiela: Thank you
How can I help you today
Me: I was just wondering if Amazon still has the policy that if someone drops in price within 30 days of buying it, then you get refunded the difference?
*something, not someone! sorry
Rhomiela: Our prices may increase or decrease based on a number of factors and unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund for the difference between the price you paid and the lower price you saw on our website.
Me: ok just thought i'd check as you used to do that
i've been refunded before
Rhomiela: I apologise.
Me: has the policy changed lately?
Rhomiela: Currently, we do not offer to refund if the price drops
Me: ok, thanks anyway
Rhomiela: Would there be anything else that I can help you with today?
Me: No, that's all. Thanks.

Just had an e-mail from them.Hello,
Greetings from Amazon.co.uk
This is a follow up email to our Chat conversation about your order #026-3399029-5663534
I've checked your order and found that the price of "Gtech CV04 Cordless Germguard Hard Floor Vacuum" has been reduced since you placed your order.
Our prices may increase or decrease based on a number of factors and unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund for the difference between the price you paid and the lower price you saw on our website.
Please see our Help pages (http://www.amazon.co.uk/returns) for additional information about returns and refunds.
I hope this helps. We look forward to seeing you again soon.0 -
Not sure what you're asking as you've had the same answer twice from the horse's mouth???Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

I'm sorry for asking. I wasn't aware of it, that's all.0

And I posted my first post before getting the e-mail.0

Its been years, they stopped back in 2008. Since then they sometimes do it as a one off goodwill gesture but there is no blanket policy like before.0

I've definitely had refunds since then. I just wasn't aware of it being stopped.
I too have had refunds BUT they were because I had pre-ordered something and when the item was released the price was lower than I had pre-ordered/paid at, they refunded the small difference. It may have been that instead.0 -
Just had an e-mail from them.
That means amzon are a credible online store I trust most.Once i bought a UDisk with something wrong,I called the service line and asked for a change. The server came on that afternoon, but I wasn't home.He dropped by the next day and took the replacement for me.0 -

I've never had any problems with Amazon. My daughter's ipod broke after 3 months, and they sent out a replacement before i'd even had the chance to post the broken one off.0
