I know the shortfall looks enormous but you really do need to save 'those few hundred here and there' as you put it because although a few hundred seems insignificant to you at present, those few hundred can make a real difference. That's a few hundred you can use to make a payment to your mortgage company!

I will be honest and say that I think you are looking for a quick, simple solution but I do think you need to look very closely at your financial situation going forward. A SOA would be a good start.
